I believe learning should be fun, hands-on and applicable to the real-world. An elementary curriculum should introduce students to emerging technologies as early as possible to get them excited about STEM-related fields and build fundamental skills within robotics, computer programming, 3-D printing, and design thinking. Exposing students at this age to innovative experiences will get them interested in STEM from the start of their education. As an educator passionate about technology and learning, I want my students to have hands-on experiences and learn something that they din't know they could do, and love it. I also want to ensure that students are aware of college opportunities and careers in the STEM field, coming from a title 1 school, I know how important this is. This is just an example of some curriculum ideas based on NJ technology standards.
